So Thursday it was Mason's 5th Birthday

All of the grandchildren went to Chessington Zoo except for Riley who stayed home with me and we prepared a little Birthday tea for when they all arrived home cold and hungry ;o) Here is Bailey to the right and the Birthday Boy Mason to the left.
His special present was a red Mountain bike with mohican style safety helmet and pads, here he is with Sharlene .
In the Evening we all went bowling including Riley though Jacob stayed home with his grandpa as he was tired .
No I wonder if you can guess who pressed the Emergency button lol. from left to right Mason ? Bailey ? or Chloe ?
Luckily they did not fine us and also let the game continue and I hope that little fingers learnt a lesson .
Just so Jacob does not feel left out here he is doing a spot of painting ;o)

  2. Been looking out for these fifth birthday photos and they are certainly worth waiting for.
A very exciting, enjoyable (and tiring!) day from the looks of things. Glad to see that YOU were there too in the evening....although as usual behind the camera and not in front of it like we would all want you to be!

So we have a budding artist in the family now. Super picture Jacob. Pleased to notice that precautions have been taken for any spillages or paint splatters.

You're just like my late mother who always had to prepare and host the family's parties and celebrations whilst the others went out and had the fun.
Goes without saying that I would have liked you and your camera to have gone to the zoo too! Yes, I know that I always want jam on my butter and icing on my cake....not to mention the look and expression on my Sasha Dolls!!!

I'm guessing that it was Bailey (judging by the look on his face!) who pressed the emergency button.

Thanks for sharing this super family day with me/us. I love large families especially when they all get together.
My parents before they passed away had five children plus their spouses, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren (plus another now on the way!)... so you've still got a way to go to equal our past family gathering numbers!

    1. Hi Kendal
Jacob goes to a little mother and baby group and I am informed by Sharlene the first few weeks he dipped the brush in the paint then straight in his mouth lol he has now worked out the paint goes on the paper ;o)

The guilty party was the Birthday boy himself Mason, Bailey was just so sad in case they stopped us playing ;o)

Every Thursday we all have family night round at our house, a large bowl of Cheesey Pasta, Garlic bread and Pizza or Sausages depending on whatever the children choose follwed by a special dessert . It Noisy , Messy and leaves me exhausted by I would not have it any other way , Can,t wait for the Summer though as we can then eat in the garden!

Not sure this would be possible if we get up to your family numbers lol . ;o)

    2. Oh! Did YOU know that for approximately 45 years WE used to have Thursday evenings as our family nights....though the attendance rules were a little different to yours. (Unfortunately they stopped four years ago when mother passed away.)

Their five children (though not the spouses) would, if they could, come to their house for the evening meal (mother was a fantastic cook!) for the catching up of any news etc. and where family matters/plans, if necessary, could be discussed privately amongst us.

Our friends etc were always rather envious of this unusual arrangement. It even took top priority over any meetings/parent's evenings etc that had been organised at my school where I taught for twenty four years, as it was well known that Thusday evenings were Kendal's family nights and so I couldn't be there!
(Did manage to get out of attending quite a few school meetings over the years!)

Very pleased to hear that a similar tradition is being carried on....AND on the SAME day! Long may it continue!

    2. What do you mean 'they' have to push a button? You just wouldn't believe the temptation I feel when I see one of those buttons that are to stop escalators in an emergecny...... and those little glass cases with a hammer inside for breaking train windows... and the little 'break glass in case of fire' boxes that are on school walls to activate the fire alarm... no wonder I had to retire from teaching and move away from the city... I just couldn't trust myself any more. Poor Mason, I fully understand the urge he succumbed to!
